Sherrell Hendrix, Ph.D.
Managing Director
Sherrell Hendrix was born into a military-affiliated family and has fond memories of several states (and South Korea) being “home”. Taking an undergraduate course in the sociological study of inequality had a profound impact on her and directed her to a life’s purpose of eradicating inequality through equitable education.
For the past twelve years, Sherrell has worked in a variety of positions at both the post-secondary and K-12 levels which has equipped her with an experienced K-16 lens. After graduating with a master’s degree in Higher Education, Sherrell worked for three years in a Student Affairs assessment office and assisted departments in the development and measurement of both learning and program outcomes. She then worked for two years in institutional research. During this time period, Sherrell also began working as a consultant for a program evaluation and consulting firm that specialized in STEM programs and Historically Black Colleges and Universities. While doing this work, she discovered not only her love of survey creation but also how the provision of actionable data can empower individuals to make informed decisions to improve program outcomes. Sherrell is currently in the final stages of finishing her dissertation on staff perceptions of culturally responsive leadership.
In 2016, Sherrell moved to Memphis, Tennessee where she worked as an Operations Analyst and then Operations Manager at a charter school district. During her tenure, she had the opportunity to standardize the evaluation process for school-site Operations Managers, implement and supervise a new provider for daily student transportation, and supervise the provision of extended learning programming through a 21st Century Community Learning Center’s grant. She then moved to St. Louis, MO where she continued to gain experience in K12 education for three years through her work at two charter schools in operations and project management roles.
At Gladiator Consulting, Sherrell creates spaces and opportunities for stakeholders to share their voices and ideas in strategic planning projects. She also works with executives on ways they can best prioritize their time and efforts so that they can create their personalized balance of work and home. One of her primary responsibilities in her role as Director of Strategic Initiatives is to create evaluations plans and assessments to measure not only Gladiator Consulting’s regional impact but also the impact of clients. Sherrell lives in Slidell, LA with her fiance and can typically be found shopping to add to her growing collection of office supplies.
